To provide a broad and practical base of training for those desiring to make acting their profession, the faculty and staff share outstanding characteristics. Expertise in the various disciplines offered in the training, include professional experience, the ability to communicate their knowledge in an organized and accessible fashion, compassion and objectivity in their interaction with students, and a commitment to the principles of excellence expected of Academy students.

In their own training, Academy teachers represent the wide spectrum of systems displayed in contemporary performing arts: master teachers, conservatories, colleges and universities. Their professional experience encompass’ Broadway, Off-Broadway, stock, regional theater, theater abroad, film and television.

Although most teachers have academic credentials, primary importance is given to professional training, experience and teaching ability. Faculty members are encouraged to remain active in the professional arena.
